Canadian aviation services provider Maverick Aviation Group Limited has acquired aerospace engineering and manufacturing company Genaire Ltd. in a move aimed at expanding its national footprint and technical capabilities.
The acquisition gives Maverick access to Genaire’s expertise in aircraft fuel systems, ground support equipment and original equipment manufacturing, while also strengthening the company’s presence in Eastern Canada.
Founded more than 70 years ago, Genaire has provided support services to both military and commercial aviation operators across Canada, including work linked to the country’s defence sector.
Maverick said the deal would allow it to broaden its aviation services platform, adding capabilities tied to specialist aircraft systems and manufacturing operations.
The acquisition includes production and support work for Twin Otter aircraft skis and pallet systems used on Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules transport aircraft, both of which play important roles in Canadian aviation and defence operations.
The company said the transaction would also support its ambition to build a coast-to-coast aviation services network across Canada.
Genaire’s existing leadership team will remain in place following the takeover, with Chris Warner continuing to lead the business as general manager for Eastern Canada.
In a statement, Maverick described Genaire as having built “an incredible reputation” through decades of service to Canada’s Department of National Defence and commercial aviation customers.
The acquisition further expands Maverick’s portfolio across avionics, instrumentation, calibration, engineering, fuel systems, non-destructive testing and aerospace manufacturing services.
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
