Menzies Aviation has joined the Heathrow Reimagined Campaign, bolstering support for the campaign’s call for urgent and fundamental reform of Heathrow’s current regulatory model.
This announcement follows the publication of Jacob’s 2025 Review of Airport Charges, which again confirms Heathrow as the world’s most expensive airport.
It is clear from the growing evidence that Heathrow cannot continue to justify the premium it charges.
With the CAA’s review recommendation expected in Spring 2026, the Campaign is continuing to seek fundamental reform for the benefit of consumers, businesses and the UK economy.
The Heathrow Reimagined campaign consists of members including Heathrow Airline Operators’ Committee (AOC), Arora Group, International Airlines Group (IAG), Virgin Atlantic and American Airlines, IATA, American Express Global Business Travel (AMEX GBT), Swissport and four of the world’s leading associations representing airlines, the travel community and travel management companies.
Miguel Gomez Sjunnesson, Executive Vice President Europe at Menzies Aviation, said: “As the leading service partner to airports and airlines across the world, we know that cost effective infrastructure investment will bring clear benefits to the UK aviation industry and wider economy.
“Yet, Heathrow’s cost structure, service and operational reliability are outliers when compared to our experience at other international hubs. Regulatory reform and the introduction of competitive cost structures is required to ensure that businesses and passengers are able to see the economic benefits from increased expansion.
“It is a pivotal moment for Britain’s future, and we look forward to working with the campaign to secure regulatory reform and deliver better outcomes for customers.”
A spokesperson for Heathrow Reimagined said: “Following the publication of Jacobs’ Airport Charges Review in which Heathrow is once again identified as the most expensive airport, today’s announcement that Menzies, the leading service partner to the world’s airports and airlines, has joined the Heathrow Reimagined Campaign is evidence of the growing support for fundamental change.”
Heathrow is at an inflection point with continued momentum from businesses – across the aviation industry – calling for urgent regulatory reform.
“It is crucial that the CAA’s forthcoming shortlist of models for regulatory reform is ambitious and keeps meaningful reform firmly on the table to enable Heathrow to become a global hub, fit for the future, and deliver economic benefits for passengers and UK businesses.”
The Heathrow Reimagined campaign continues to actively engage with the wider industry and government to achieve its primary objective of fundamental reform.
The campaign is supported by the Heathrow Airline Operators’ Committee (AOC), Advantage Travel Partnership, American Airlines, Arora Group, Board of Airlines Representatives in the UK (BAR UK), Business Travel Association (BTA), International Air Transport Association (IATA), International Airlines Group (IAG), Swissport, Virgin Atlantic and World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC).
