TIPS GSE has unveiled the Highway2236Pe, a revolutionary passenger boarding stair with an integrated PRM lift, setting a new benchmark for accessibility, efficiency and sustainability in ground support equipment.

The fully electric, self-propelled Highway2236Pe combines two systems into one: a standard passenger stair and a seamlessly integrated wheelchair lift.

With a height range of 2.2m to 3.6m, it is compatible with the most common narrowbody aircraft, including the Airbus A320 and Boeing B737 families.

Key highlights include: an integrated PRM lift with no additional setup or vehicles required; safe, comfortable boarding which is designed for wheelchairs and mobility aids up to 300kg; eco-friendly operation; enhanced safety systems which protect both passengers and aircraft; and long service life.

Vesna Poznič, head of sales at TIPS GSE, said: “[The] Highway2236Pe is not just a stair, but a complete boarding solution.

“By integrating the PRM lift, we provide airports with a product that improves efficiency, reduces costs and most importantly, ensures every passenger enjoys the same level of safety and comfort.”

The new solution builds on growing momentum in the industry for more accessible boarding.

The Highway2236Pe sets a new standard by uniting inclusivity and operational efficiency in a single, ready-to-use system.

For the Highway series, development is far from over – new models are already in the pipeline and expected to be unveiled in the coming months.
