Airport Authority Hong Kong sign agreement on Guangxi sand supply for 3RS project

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) signed a framework agreement today with a company under the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Government for the provision of sand to supply the Three-runway System (3RS) project at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).

The tripartite agreement was signed alongside the main reclamation contractor for the 3RS project, and is expected to see the delivery of sand from Guangxi to Hong Kong commence from mid-2019.

Lu Xinshe, Secretary of the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee and Fred Lam, Chief Executive Officer of the AA were present to witness the signing of the agreement in Hong Kong. This was done by Representatives of the AA, the main reclamation contractor, Zhen Hua Engineering Company Limited, China Communications Construction Company Limited and CCCC Dredging (Group) Company Limited Joint Venture, and Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group Company Limited respectively.

The AA also signed a framework collaboration agreement with the Guangxi Airport Group Company Limited, according to which the AA will provide consultancy service and training to the Guangxi Airport Group on airport operation management and infrastructure construction.

In a separate agreement signed on May 15, the AA will also provide consultancy service and training on airport development and management to the Nanning Municipal People’s Government.
