Avia Maldives was named South Asia’s Leading Supervision Agent (General Aviation Service) at the fourth annual South Asian Travel Awards (SATA).
The SATA, held at the Amari Galle Hotel in Galle, Sri Lanka, began in 2016 and is the first regional travel awards event held in celebration of South Asia’s best hospitality and travel organisations.
This year, SATA received over 500 nominations for a wide range of categories recognising service excellence in the South Asian hospitality and travel industry. The Maldives won a total of 32 awards in individual categories, among which was Avia Maldives Pvt Ltd.
This is the first time SATA has introduced the Leading Supervision Agent category, which was contested by three aviation companies. The award recognises excellence in the provision of ground handling services required by general aviation during destination and technical stops.
Operating in Velana International Airport and Gan International Airport, Avia Maldives has been in operation since August 2011, offering VIP ground handling, inflight catering, aircrew and passenger services, as well as travel and tour related services.
