The evacuation of Terminal 1 at Frankfurt Airport on Tuesday was due to a security error as a family of four were let through clearance despite testing positive for explosives.
Federal Police, whom searched for the French family in the terminal after it was evacuated, blame the halting of proceedings at Frankfurt on a security mistake by the airport staff.
The family were eventually found, questioned by police and allowed to travel on. It is believed that at least one of them did not fully complete security checks.
Passengers faced delays, long ques and cancellations after the partial evacuation of the airport n Germany.
